● Red is commonly associated with love and

considered to be the colour of power. This is because at that time red dye was
very expensive, which meant only the rich were able to wear it. It was also
limited in availability which made it even more desirable and accessible only
for the affluent.
● To this day, dressing in red is seen as a
sign of confidence as it attracts the eye. The boldness of the colour shows
that you’re comfortable with standing out. If you want to draw the eye to a
certain area, using red is an easy way of doing so. For instance, red lipstick
can instantly enhance your lips and draw more attention to them.
● The association of red with strength and
power may also be one of the reasons why it is the most popular choice of
colour for country flags. Around 75% of countries use it on their flags.
● All of the emotions that red is associated
with are intense, whether it is love or anger or aggression. Whether you love
it or you hate it, you definitely can’t ignore it!
